Could dreaming bigger be your competitive advantage?

Do you want Angelina Jolie to invest in your business?

Or Kim Kardashian to be one of your customers?

Or, what if you were so exceptional that you redefined an entire category?

These aren't pipe dreams. These are possibilities.

One of the reasons I love what I do is because I get to work with people who think differently. People with huge ambitions, bold ideas, and fearless dreams. These are the kinds of founders who look at the world and don’t just ask “why me?” but “why not me?”

Of course: it only seems crazy until it's done.

This isn’t a Nike commercial. It’s not another inspirational Instagram quote.

And yes, I know if you're still reading this, you might be rolling your eyes.

But stay with me for a moment:

I had a lightbulb moment during a recent client session that changed the way I think about ambition. I want to share that with you. At the very least, this might give you a fresh perspective. At best, it might inspire you to dream bigger and punch higher.

Here’s the thought:

What if... the crazier your dream, the more competitive edge you have?

Let me explain.

How many of you are pitching your startup to Angelina Jolie? How many are trying to sell a product or service to Kim Kardashian? And how many are trying to completely redefine your category?

Not many? Exactly.

That’s where the opportunity lies.

When your ambitions sound "crazy" to the majority, you eliminate a huge chunk of the competition. You're not fighting for a sliver of market share in a crowded space. You're building a whole new world.

And here’s the kicker: it’s not just fantasy. These things have actually happened.

Angelina Jolie actively invests in ventures through her fashion initiative, Atelier Jolie. Kim Kardashian supported Olivia Carr, the founder of Shhh Silk, a previously unknown brand, because she believed in the product. Michael Jordan—arguably the greatest basketball player of all time—didn’t just play the game. He changed the rules. He became the blueprint for athletes as celebrities, influencers, and billion-dollar brands.

If you’re someone who values playing it safe, this message might not be for you. But if you're already dreaming big, or even hovering in the middle, wondering if you should aim higher, this is your sign.

Think about it: setting bigger goals gives you and your team something to get excited about. It fuels creativity. It sharpens focus. It draws others to your mission.

When you dream beyond the ordinary, you're not just competing; you’re creating a category of one.

That’s where the magic happens.

So, here's the encouragement:

Think bigger. Dream crazier. Act bolder.

Because even if you don’t hit every wild goal, the pursuit will take you further than you thought possible.

And even if you don’t win over Angelina or Kim, your thinking will be so differentiated that you’ll stand out in your field, and likely inspire others along the way.

(At the very least, it’ll make for one hell of a story!)

So, what’s your crazy dream? And how could we make it even crazier?
